Many people believe that their self is not worthy of care. This could not be further from the truth. It is only through caring for self that we can begin to grow and change.

Daily

Daily self-care looks like brushing teeth, washing face, taking medicine, ect. These can be some of the easiest successes and the most disappointing failures. People can take for granted how hard these activities are during depressions.

Routines

It is easier to make a routine when your mood is normal. Through making these routines you will find that you are able to use the routines as a crutch during bad days or phases.

Special

I find it is also important to surprise yourself with special self-care instances. For example: a one-hour spa, or something simple like 30 uninterrupted minutes of coloring. Coming up with ideas in the future can give you something to fall back on in times of stress.
